This page exists to help you describe what’s happening clearly if the situation needs to be handed off. It is not about fixing, diagnosing, or assigning cause.
What to include
- What the engine sounded like before maintenance
- When the sound change was first noticed
- Whether the sound is steady, intermittent, or changing
- Whether anything else feels different during operation
Observation is sufficient. Interpretation is not required.
Neutral handoff script (copy / paste)
After recent maintenance, the engine sounds different than it did before. The change was noticed afterward and has been present since. Aside from the sound, operation appears unchanged. I’m looking for help understanding whether this change needs attention.
